Employee Spotlight: Crystal, Fulfillment Manager
What does a typical day look like for you? I typically try to start my day early — this way I can get in a nice workout before starting my day. My boyfriend and I take our two pugs out for a nice walk. This helps me set intentions and plan my day. I like to check emails and notifications before arriving at the office this way I have more focus time once I arrive. At the office, I split time between meetings and walking around the office to chat with my team and reset my focus. This keeps me busy through lunch (often I don’t even find time to finish my coffee!). Now that I am working from home part-time, my time in the office ends by 1:30p. At home, I finish up other projects and call in to meetings. I typically end my day with some old-lady puppy snuggles and reruns of Friends or yoga and meditation.
Why did you choose Curology? Before working for Curology… I was a patient! For many years I suffered from acne and decided to give it a try. The product worked wonders for me. I fell in love with the company’s mission. I was so excited to be given the opportunity to help contribute to that mission and make an impact on so many other people’s lives — many of whom suffered from acne just as I did.
How has your role evolved since you started? I started out part-time with the company and within a month or so I was so excited that I transitioned to full time and started to become more involved in the process. I was the first hire for the Fulfillment department and today I manage a team of 60+! Since I joined the team, the fulfillment process has evolved and changed almost yearly. When I joined, the process was very “manual”, and I’ve been able to be a part of shaping and building our process to what it is today.
What is your favorite Curology memory? So many to choose from! One of the biggest changes to our procedure involved implementing barcode scanning. This was a project I helped work on from the very first stages. Seeing that project grow from an idea I had on paper, to testing out the prototypes, to seeing it go live with our full team was an amazing experience.
If you could work in a different department for a day, which one would you choose and why? Creative/Design - I’d love to see the behind-the-scenes of all of the cool projects that they work on! Get my hands glittery!
What do you like to do for fun when you aren’t in the office? I spend the majority of my time outside of the office with my two senior pugs George and Piggy Lee! They both need special attention and are quite the handful. When I’m not home with them you can find me traveling throughout the US and trying new foods.
